Donate to WHSoA

We are a non-profit Community Interest Company, committed to charging below market rate for our courses, and using our profits to fund outreach art programmes throughout our community. But running an art school comes with huge outgoings.

Generate free donations every time you shop online through TheGivingMachine! It takes 2 minutes to set up and doesn’t cost you or us a penny! Find out more.

One off donations can make a tangible difference - you can tell us what you would like your donation to be used for:

£15 allows for a disadvantaged child to attend one of our children’s workshops free of charge

£25 covers a 1-2-1 art session for a socially anxious or SEN child, where a group workshop is unsuitable

£100 buys essential materials and books for the art school, enabling us to widen what we can offer and the research library we have

£250 could sponsor a disadvantaged child through a WHSoA summer school, or a year of WHSoA workshops

£500 pays for a part-time assistant’s monthly wage - essential to the running of WHSoA and helping us to flourish!

£1000 the cost of our studios’ monthly rent.

Would you like to make a more regular donation to our work? Then why not become a WHSoA Patron.

Become a social investor, gain 30% tax relief

and help West Hampshire School of Art flourish!

West Hampshire School of Art C.I.C. ( is raising £36,000 to support its crucial first three years. Find out more about our mission to improve accessibility to and the inclusivity of fine art education in west Hampshire.

Invest up to £10,800 as a loan & take advantage of the government's Social Investment Tax Relief scheme, regulated by HMRC - save 30% of your investment off your next tax bill & help a community-driven social enterprise at the same time!

So for example, if you invested £1000 on 30th September 2019, you save £300 off your tax bill from tax year 2019-20 (or 2018-19), and your tax relief is guaranteed by the government, as long as your capital remains invested for at least 3 years and 1 day – until 1st October 2022. There is also CGT and loss relief applicable.

HMRC stipulate there must be a minimum of 4 investors, with no one investor putting in more than 30% of the total capital: so the maximum investment is £10,800: invest that amount and you would save £3,600 in tax relief!

Return of capital: we have a six year cashflow forecast that includes return of capital + up to 8% interest to our investors in staggered amounts over 2022-2023, once the 3 years and 1 day qualifying period has passed.

Please note, this is a loan deal not an equity deal, as we are a Community Interest Company limited by guarantee, and as such cannot issue shares.

We are looking for investment asap as we tgrow the art school and our outreach programmes, so please do get in touch with Daisy Rogers, our Managing Director and Lead Tutor, to discuss further.  An investor information pack is available on request, containing company documentation, a business plan, a six year cashflow forecast and HMRC Advance Assurance of SITR status update (application in progress).
